Daria Resort

Daria Resort

Daria Resort, one of the few resort villages in Israel situated on a seashore is a pastoral resort located within a unique gem of nature - with the Sea of Galilee on one side and the Golan Heights hills and Jordan Valley on the other. Featuring an adjacent seashore and two unique, breathtaking breakwaters, Daria offers more than 100 large accommodation units designed and outfitted in a rustic style that blends into the pastoral landscape.

Our goal at Daria Resort is to provide guests with an active Israeli vacation experience based on the values of Israeli culture from the beginning of the modern settlement period, which began in the area. Our wish is to combine the authentic experience of overnights on the Sea of Galilee shores and having fun, by helping our guests to enjoy the vast variety of Israel’s natural resources and the region’s untamed landscapes.

The streets of the village have been named after Israeli artists that are the pillar stones of Israeli culture from various periods of time, and their works and stories decorate Yama’s spaces. Israeli songs can be heard in the background throughout the streets of the village and in its public areas, endowing each visit with a unique sense of Israeli culture. In its effort to offer guests a values-based experience, Daria Resort has developed a variety of concept-and-content-based activities, both on its grounds and outside, weaving a thread that connects different interesting sites and placing emphasis on local attractions. There is, for example, a tour focusing on different water sites during the summer, using 4x4 vehicles to climb the Golan Heights. Another offering is a tours along the early trails connecting the settlements of Degania and Kinneret, and one based on stories and songs of the literary lions that were nurtured by the Jordan Valley.

Featured are nostalgic Israel concept experiences that include a bonfire evening and a farm meal - all of this reflecting the region’s pastoral ambience. Guests are offered a variety of activities, with each selection individually tailored in advance for Israeli families, tourists, groups, workers’ committees, etc.

This wide selection of diverse activities is available every day of the week during July, August and Israeli holidays, and activities for groups can be booked in advance at any time. On-site activities are subject to approval by the hotel, and updates on them can be had in advance via the reservations center or the hotel.

The crowning glory of Daria Resort is its large beach on the Sea of Galilee shores, located adjacent to the village itself. It’s a great place to rest, take a dip in the pleasant Sea of Galilee waters and enjoy the views of the Galilee and the Golan Heights. The beach, which features washroom facilities, also has beach chairs and covered areas and is kept clean around the clock.

The resort village’s dining room offers an abundant, authentic Israeli buffet-style breakfast, as well as concept dining inspired by Jordan Valley farming. Lunch and dinner are available when booked in advance. The two dining rooms in the village, one large facility seating up to 200 and a smaller room for up to 80, are “Glatt Kosher” under the supervision of the Jordan River Rabbinate.

Campfire sites of various sizes are scattered along the beach, allowing for guests - groups and families - to sit around one of them, roast potatoes, hear tales of the Jordan Valley and listen to the tunes of different musicians that are an integral part of the experience. Lighting a fire on the beach is not permitted on the Jewish Sabbath (including on Friday eve) and the activity is subject to the approval of the hotel. Updates are available ahead of time from the chain’s reservations center, or from the hotel.

The village sports a communal barbecue compound open daily from 10:30 to 22:30. for the use of families and groups. The site is overseen by a chef that interacts with the guests by talking about the meat, offering tips, improving the taste and seasoning and sharing professional secrets with diners. The activity is subject to the approval of the hotel, and updates are available ahead of time from the chain’s reservations center, or from the hotel.

Daria Resort features a children’s playground with all-day activities in July and August and on Jewish holidays. Children’s activities the rest of the year (except between November-February) take place on weekends, or by prior arrangement. In addition, the resort village’s lawns serve as a vast open play space for children and as an outdoor playground (in July and August and on Jewish holidays), with trampolines and other equipment and games.

For guests that love surfing and other watersports, Daria Resort offers Daria on the Sea, a rental service for kayaks and SUPs (stand up paddle surfing equipment), enabling them to enjoy marvelous Sea of Galilee vistas. With regard to Xtreme, Daria on the Sea has Tornado and banana boats for sailing on the lake, for a unique sea experience and adrenalin rush, pleasure and lots of fun, and the site is supervised by a certified guide. There are additional fees for taking advantage of Daria on the Sea services, and it is advisable to book ahead, in order to reserve a place.

A local Israeli bar located on the Sea of Galilee shores, which serves beers from various Golan Heights breweries and wines from local Galilee and Golan Heights wineries.

Whether for a private, business or boutique indoor or outdoor event - bar/bat mitzvahs, circumcision parties, birthdays, Sabbath pre-nuptial celebrations (“Shabbat Khatan”), weddings, business conferences, professional seminars, bonding experiences and parties of every sort - Yama Resort can offer a number of halls, complemented by all the services needed. Each hall has been outfitted with a wrap-around amplification and projection system, tables and chairs, screens, and - for an additional charge - a hot buffet area can be added. The halls are situated near the lakefront and overlook the Galilee Hills and Sea of Galilee landscape, and access from them to well-kempt sitting areas is convenient, ideal for breaks and satellite conferences. The hotel respects the rules of Jewish Sabbath observance, and it features a synagogue (in Agnon Hall) that operates on the Sabbath, Jewish holidays and upon request. Agnon Hall, Yama Resort’s largest banquet hall, can seat up to 300 participants, while Bialik Hall can accommodate up to 100, though in all cases, maximum occupancy is dependent on seating arrangements. Moreover, the 2.5-acre outdoor lakeside compound can serve as a venue for productions, festivals and private events (subject to approval by the relevant authorities).

The resort village can organize off-road 4x4 tours, a route that runs through the heights of the Golan, circumnavigates the Sea of Galilee and continues to the Daria Resort waterfront. The guided tour, which lasts about 75 minutes, is based on self-driven Ranger vehicles and is an unforgettable off-the-beaten-track experience. In addition, Daria Resort offers tour packages tailored to meet individual tastes, created by a certified tour guide. It is advisable to book tours in advance, to guarantee availability. Content and bonding packages are available too, for groups, organizations, workers’ committees and tourists. The various packages comprise a broad range of topics and are selected with meticulous care in accordance with the changing seasons and the nature of each group. All tours, attractions and content packages are subject to an additional charge.
